Toddlers and Tape

We placed two lines of masking tape parallel to each other on our classroom floor and encouraged the children to move on and over the tape in different ways. Soon they did not need us to give them ideas. They were moving in ways that they came up with on their own and showing each other new things to do.

Español es divertido!

Ms. Veronica, our Spanish teacher is amazing! She comes up with such fun and interactive ways for the children to learn new vocabulary in Spanish. This week, in conjunction with our regular lesson planning, she taught about animals on the farm. Here are some of the new words that we learned:
cow- vaca
sheep- oveja
chicken- gallina
pig- cerdo
dog- perro
cat- gato
duck- pato

The Box

Ms. Donna recently purchased us a new filing cabinet for our classroom. As much as we appreciated the new cabinet, what was even better was the box that it came in. The children used the box in so many different ways- a cave, a tunnel, a cozy place to take a rest, a dance floor, a drum, a hiding place...the list could go on and on.
