Nursery Rhyme Lesson Part One

During the month of June we have been learning about nursery rhymes.
The lesson before this one was about gardening and I thought nursery
rhymes would be a good lesson to follow. Nursery rhymes are mainly based
on nature and child experiences...perfect match for our kids!

One of our first activities was making black sheep.
We sang 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' as we worked.

One of our next activities was making our own spiders. We used
play dough, googly eyes and pipe cleaners. The children
were able to choose this activity several times during the week.
We sang, 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' and 'Little Miss Muffet' as we played.

We worked with play dough again and made a black
bird pie. We counted the blackbirds as we placed them in
the pie. We sang, 'Sing a Song of Sixpence' as we worked.
